Malta Residence and Visa Programme (MRVP)

Are you eligible?

The Malta Residence and Visa Programme is aimed at attracting high net worth individuals and their families to Malta. The Programme offers an attractive residency in an EU Member State with VISA free travel.

To qualify for residency, yourself as applicant must:

icon-certificateBe at least 18 years of age and of good conduct

icon-real-estateAcquire real estate with a minimum value of €320,000 in the north of Malta or €270,000 for a property in the south of Malta or Gozo;
OR
Rent a property in the north of Malta at an annual rent of at least €12,000 or €10,000 in the south of Malta or in Gozo

icon-investInvest in stocks, bonds or in another vehicle identified by Malta Residency and Visa Agency for a minimum value of €250,000 for at least 5 years

icon-contributionMake a contribution of €30,000 to the National Development and Social Fund of the Government of Malta. (€5,500 of this contribution fee has to be paid on application and is not refundable). This fee covers only the Main Applicant, spouse, and the children of the Main Applicant and/or the Spouse at application stage. Other dependents have to pay an additional fee.

icon-incomeApplicant must provide proof of a minimum annual income of €100,000 or has capital in excess of €500,000

icon-healthHave a Global Health Insurance coverage for at least €50,000 per person mentioned in the application.

Principal applicants can include as Dependants:

  • Spouse – in a monogamous marriage or in another relationship with a similar status to marriage
  • Children of the main applicant or of his spouse, irrespective whether they are under or over 18 years of age. Provided that if the children are over 18 years of age , they must be both [1] wholly financially supported by the main applicant and [2] not married
  • Parent and grandparents of the main applicant or of the spouse at application stage.
  • The spouse of a previously approved dependant child
  • The child, born or adopted after the approval date, of the Main applicant.
  • The child, born or adopted after the approval date of a previously approved dependant child of the Main Applicant and/or the spouse, or of the previously approved dependant child’s spouse.
